1984-1992 One Dollar Five Coin Set

Description: This 1984-1992 One Dollar Five Coin Set was released by the Royal Australian Mint Canberra to bring together for the first time all variations of Australia’s one dollar coin designs up until 1992. The coins included in the set are: 1984 One Dollar – The obverse of the coin carries Arnold Machin’s original portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. 1985 One Dollar – In 1985 Buckingham Palace decided it was time to update the Queens portrait. Raphael Maklouf’s was responsible for designing the updated effigy of Queen Elizabeth II that adorns the obverse of this coin. 1986 One Dollar – Recognised the ‘International Year of Peace’ and was Australia’s first commemorative one dollar coin. 1988 One Dollar – Was Australia’s second commemorative one dollar, minted as part of the country’s Bicentennial celebrations. 1992 One Dollar – Commemorates the 25th Olympiad held in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
