1925 Australian Penny

Description: After the iconic 1930 Penny the 1925 Penny is the key date of the Australian penny series. A total of 117,600 pennies were struck at the Melbourne mint that year. Along with 832,000 pennies at the Sydney mint indicating a total mintage of 949,600 coins. The Sydney Mint however, struck pennies that year using 1924 dies and consequently only 117,600 pennies were struck with the date of 1925 making the 1925 Penny the rarest circulating penny behind the 1930 Penny. Strong reverse detail and problem free rims make this 1925 Penny a well above average example. Graded in Very Fine condition, not easy to come by.
