Description: The 2010 $1 Centenary of Flight Silver Proof celebrates the centenary of the first controlled, powered flight in Australia. Remarkably, the world-famous escapologist Houdini, was invited to fly the French designed Voisin biplane during his 1910 tour of Australia. Houdini flew a total of three times over Diggers Rest, near Melbourne on 18 March 1910 and is regarded as having completed the first sustained flight in Australia.
