2023 50c 50th Anniversary AC/DC Silver Antique Finish Coin

Description: AC/DC is an Australian music icon, and this year celebrates 50 years since forming in 1973. AC/DC was formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, with Angus Young the only remaining original member. Founded in Sydney, the group takes their name from the abbreviation of ‘alternating current/direct current’ electricity. The groups name was suggested by Malcom and Angus’s sister, Margaret, the group thought the name was representative of their high-energy and powerful musical style. Touring the world playing to sold-out arenas AC/DC have sold more than 200 million albums over the past five decades. A special ‘antique’ finish has been applied to the coin. The reverse depicts the iconic AC/DC logo with the dates 1973-2023 and the number ‘50’ to mark this significant anniversary.
