Cuba 1985 20 Pesos Foreign Exchange Certificate Series D 1st Issue

Description: Cuba 1985 20 Pesos Foreign Exchange Certificate Series D 1st Issue was demonitised in October 2001. The Series D certificates were specifically intended for use by students on foreign exchange in Cuba. Foreign Exchange Certificates were only valid for five years from date of issue. The date of issue had to be written on the reverse, as well as the bearer’s signature, on the lower right side. If the certificate remained unused when leaving Cuba, the bearer could exchange it for other another currency, however, if five years had passed, the FEC could only be exchanged for Cuban Pesos at the current rate of exchange.
